Nicola Lecaldano Sasso la Terza Nobody really knows what he was up to. We only know that he lived very well and at the end of 1800 he made a fantastic voyage all the way to China and Japan.
On his return from that journey, he brought back to Italy many pieces of porcelain. Although a large number broke, each of his descendants has some of that china at home today -after four generations! Towards the end of 1800, during the excavations of Pompei, he sponsored Cavaliere Cinquegrana's "Officine di Arti Grafiche Napoletane" which produced prints representing frescos and mosaics unearthed at Pompei. This workshop was in Vico Rosario di Palazzo 25, not very far from the hotel.
